What an amazing 2009 it was! As always…we are continually fascinated with how God ‘shows up’ in powerful & miraculous ways. 2009 was NO exception. First let me thank you for your grace in accepting our greetings & update so late ~ it was my goal to get it to you by January 31st/ 2010! OOPS!! PLEASE…don’t drop us from your Holiday List!!

Well, in 2009, Russ completed his 3rd year of Optometry school (7th year in our LONG journey) with eager anticipation for graduation – Sunday, June 6th/ 2010. He began working as ‘Intern Coates’ at the SUNY Optometry Clinics….and did his first two terms (each 3 months) of clinical ‘IN,’ on the campus in Manhattan. Now, he’s ‘OUT/OUT’…both clinics in Brooklyn. He’s so thankful to be away from SUNY campus…& is enjoying his time now, at ‘East New York.’March marked a monumental ‘march’ to the finish line, with Russ passing Part 1 of his Boards. December 1st he completed Part 2. (and passed with flying colors) In late spring he will take Part 3 – to complete the Boards, graduate, and then apply for his license in the Tri-States & Texas. We know that our immediate future will keep us in New York City – believing that God has an incredible plan. In part, that will include a “J-O-B” (– as my Mom would say! LOL…) Although, not the traditional job – as he’s just applied for SUNY 5th year residency, hoping to work at East NY Diagnostic & Treatment Center.

This past July we went on our first mission trip as a family to Oaxaca, Mexico. WOW! All I can say is, in all my years of going on mission trips and serving…this trip ‘blew me away!’ God showed me as I was preparing for the trip, that I was to “watch & pray”- so, “watchman” was my primary roll. I marveled in watching & praying as my sweet husband served the Oaxacan People…along with watching my daughter’s faith grow as she prayed, & played with the children, and watched people miraculously healed. I’ve never seen miracles like God did on this trip. At times when we were on prayer walks – I felt like we were kicking up the sands of the disciples – as He was stirring up the very miracles from the Bible. I know I should not have been surprised! He is the same “Miraculous God” of the past – the God who parted the Red Sea, healed the deaf, blind, & lame…the same God who raised the dead – & raised HIMSELF from the dead. As for Isabella Kate, this year she turned 6 yrs. old… lost 4 teeth…has become an A-Mazing reader…started 1st grade… and blows us away everyday as we watch her faith in God grow! She loves to worship & loves to dance. This is her 3rd year of ballet…and is becoming more and more focused, self-controlled and graceful with each passing month. She still loves to draw – and we are told that she is very advanced, so we think she’s definitely gifted in the ‘Arts’! (I’m just a little excited about that!)

As for me, Deborah, I’m always into “something”… of course I want to share of my current projects –but, I will wait – as most are still taking form. On a different note God is blessing us financially – thru my working in ministry, heading up the MSNY Women’s ministry pastoring the sweet ladies of our church. What an exciting time ahead…as God has been breathing & declaring ‘transition’ into our life since earlier this fall. We are now embracing it, as we moved just down the street to an AMAZING big apartment! We are so excited & blessed feeling thrilled to have people enjoy are new home without bumping into each other! Come visit!!

In expectation … we are stretching out our tent pegs…preparing in prayer for our future…excited & ready…listening for the voice of the Lord.

Marrying the WORD & POWER...WISDOM & ZEAL... the 'Apostolic & Prophetic!' This short video is a POWERFUL Prophetic Word (2009) - I choose to receive this word for my life in 2010...it is sooo powerful!! I am reading the Bible chronologically this year -- I'm in Leviticus -- and really hearing the Lord. I'm EXCITED ... hope ... you will eat up the word this year too! (Revelation 10:10)

DAY FOUR: "FE y CURACION ~ faith & healing"

God has been growing Isabella's faith by leaps and bounds...it's been amazing to watch her grow in the Lord this year & 4mos. (she accepted Jesus as her Savior in Apr. '08).

So, in the months of preparation for this mission trip, Isabella was doing some bible study with one of our sweet friends who teaches the children. In one of the studies we started talking about John the Baptist baptizing Jesus...Isabella put it together with Ananias baptizing Saul/Paul...and then said -- "I never did that Mommy, I think I need to!!" Amazed & excited I called the church to find out the next baptism date -- it was that Sunday!

I must say I'm continually blown away by the thoughts and ideas that God drops in her mind and on her heart....on our way to her baptism, she declared -- "Mommy, WE are going to Oaxaca, and we are going to lay hands on little children, and they are going to be healed in Jesus Name!"I just looked at her in astonishment -- and said "Yes, 'Bella! God IS going to heal people..." -- I thought in my mind, "wow, what a bold declaration for a 5yo!" that was the point that I started to get a sense that her baptism this day was and open door to a grand adventure & the beginning of days, weeks, and years of ministry in her life!~

10 days later we left for Oaxaca...On the 2nd day of ministry in the village we went to church. At the end of an amazing service...we went up in groups...to pray for and minister to the people of the village.

The short version of this story goes like this:

A young girl and her parents approached us, he father explained that she was completely deaf...and had been deaf for over 2yrs. The doctors had told them that she'd not hear again -- but they were believing for a miracle, and believed that God would heal her. Isabella instinctively and immediately before even being directed by the missionary in our prayer circle laid hands on this little girl and began praying powerfully in Jesus name. Prayers for healing.

I found myself putting my fingers in the girls ears....and praying for her healing, but also asking the Lord if he'd heal her AND grow Isabella's faith in who and what God was and could do! I felt the words of the Lord DROP boldly in my heart...."It is done."

I looked at the missionary -- and Isabella...and the other doctors in our circle, the little girl and the parents...and told the missionary that I felt the Lord say it's done. I took my fingers out -- and the little girl smiled, turned and walked away. We were stunned...but the next moments happened so fast -- the missionary went, "chush, chush!!" and motioned for her to come back. He then said, "can you hear me?" -- she said, "Sí, Señor!"...he lowered his voice and said, "can you hear me now?" -- she said, "Sí, Señor!" -- NEEDLESS to say...we erupted in cheers and praise for this wild miracle....I nearly fell over!! Isabella just looked calmly at the line of people and me...and said, "Isn't it cool what God can do?!" I just wanna cry even now....just thinkin' -- "yea, BabyLove...God is COOL!"

DAY FOUR: San Antoninio

God's Provision of Rain: when the village people said, "if you bring God with you...pray for rain...b/c we have not had rain in 2 and a half months!" We prayed and within the hour it rained hard -- and God came down mightily from the heavens. As we stood in the center of town with the village officials and villagers we watched the rain in awe. I could see people coming out of their houses...onto their rooftops or balconies to see the rain...I could hear the donkeys complaining about the rain...but most impactful to me personally was standing under the covering with this old woman - I sang praises to my Lord - not completely aware of the language of praise or the words I was saying - she looked joyful & blessed...as she huddled close to me, nodding in 'agreement.' It was as if she understood the magnitude of what my mind did not! Praise God for His Miracles!! Rain may not seem like a big deal to us here in the cities, because much of the time if the Doppler forecasts rain - we sigh thinking how inconvenient it will be in our daily commute. BUT, trust me when I say, when there is NO rain-- and you call on the 'maker of rain' to appear in the form of rain...and HE DOES!!?? This is mind - blowing. A true miracle.

DAY THREE: Traveling into the mountains...

Today we got up early... packed all the vehicles to drive into the mountain village. Our first destination was SanAntonino. The drive was amazing... winding thru the mountain dirt roads, seeing towns people walking roadside with their goats & donkeys, watching cows feeding on practically vertical grasslands, looking thru the plush mountain range & the bright blue skies with puffs of clouds. Bouncing along the rocky roads, streams, & water crossings...passing thru the needy Zapotec villages & road blocks.

As we were driving we would plant keys thru out the land. We especially like dropping keys in the water trusting God that he was opening up things in the 'spirit realm' for the people of these mountains. There were a couple different turns where we had opportunities to get out of the van, it became a fun game with God....we'd bury keys in all sorts of areas.

God said...

DAY TWO: Morning Mountain Mercies...

We were surprised this morning when we found out that we, as a team, were driving up to a mountain sight overlooking OAXACA to have our morning worship...and time with the Lord. Isabella, Russ and I decided to take this time to start our "Freedom Key" adventure. It was so powerful overlooking Oaxaca City & praying for freedom for the city, the people...and all that God would do in the days to come while we were on this mission trip.

We are LOOSING things here in Oaxaca -- FREEDOM -- loosing the chains of the heritage lands, the generational teachings, witchcraft, alcoholism, bitterness, anger, & death. We are calling forth FREEDOM & HEALING. This treasure hunt has turned into an incredible time of building our faith as we are laying down symbols in the "natural realm" as we bury keys --FREEDOM KEYS!!

We are believing that GOD is releasing the bondage chains within the land of Oaxaca!!

Isabella's first SWEET prayer over the overlooking Oaxaca City was sooo amazing as she prayed for the people, but emphasised that children in Oaxaca would be 'healed in Jesus name'...and come to know who Jesus was. Her belief and trust is so precious -- I see God teaching ME what it means to have faith of a little child. She definitely is being moved, and trusting God completely thru the Holy Spirit -- because I couldn't possibly teach her this...as I feel I am still learning this type of faith. I'm sooo thankful to be her Mommy. THANK YOU, LORD.

DAY ONE: Mission Compound...Training...& AMAZING FOOD!

Our day was uneventful...and smooth.

THE FIRST TRAVEL DAY WAS GREAT!!!

And although we didn't leave for the airport at our original time we planned we arrived in plenty of time....and much of the team was not ther yet. (I was thankful for THAT...even though we were not planning on packing glasses, drops or medications within our luggage.

GOD answered all of our prayers....

PLEASE PRAY – travel mercies (everyone in our team arrives, travel details, flight details, patience, Isabella will be peaceful and cooperative)
Isabella was soooo great! She was sooo giddy and excited... she stayed awake until we boarded the plane!! (and before take-off promptly passed out!)
PLEASE PRAY – we can sleep on the plane. (we arrive in Oaxaca at 7:30am)
YEA!!
PLEASE PRAY – that we will be able to check our luggage all the way through to Oaxaca City and go through customs there.
THIS was amazing...all of our luggage went straight thru to Oaxaca - and customs was sooo easy & simple!
PLEASE PRAY – that customs and immigration will go smoothly for all, that all our luggage will arrive safely. (Also, we are transporting over 1000prs. of glasses – that they will clear, and all equipment and medication will clear.)
SMOOTH as SILK!!!

Praise GOD for the early stages.... for the most part all went well.

Although I didn't sleep much on either flight....Isabella and I enjoyed the beautiful sunrise over Mexico City....where Isabella was determined we saw a VOLCANO! Later we found out it really WAS!! Volcano Popo...it's one of the twin volcanos surrounding Mexico City, her sister has the nickname for : ""The Sleeping Woman." Popo (formally known as: Popocatepetl) was letting off some steam!

I believe that God is going to use Isabella in AMAZING ways for his Kingdom. She's so excited about this mission trip, I can only think that the Lord has enhanced this excitement and joy!
My first mission trip to Mexico was 11 yrs ago...I connected with the children by singing....I knew ONE SONG in spanish....and the kids flocked to me...and we painted DAY after DAY!! Well, my sweet girl LOVES ART....loves to color...
Many of you know that I'm illustrating children's books....and so I thought, what fun to illustrate some coloring pages...and buy some bulk crayons from Oriental Trading company.

Please pray that God will bless her time...our time.

ISABELLA KATE'S Baptism: July 5th 2009 @ 4:35pm

What a blessing to be an observer, prayer warrior, & parent to this precious girl!

THANK YOU God! It's been so fun to watch her journey in knowing God, Jesus, & the Holy Spirit. From the night she said to me, "Where are you going? We gotta pray and get Jesus in my heart!" To...when she told us about her dream she had about Jesus dressed in white with a shiny-sparkly head, and declared, "He was putting the shiny in my heart!"

We've watched her grow in the fruit & power of the Holy Spirit thru out this year -- and finally after hearing the story of "Saul of Tarsus" and his conversion - she said, "Ananias baptized Paul like John the Baptist baptized Jesus. I didn't do that - I need to do that Mommy!"

Oaxaca, MX. –

(Pronounced "Wuh-ha-kah”)
I want you to know –RIGHT NOW I am praising our God for YOU! Early on, when I began praying for this Oaxaca Mission Trip, the Lord laid on my heart that he had a strong army of warriors that would commit to be on our support prayer team. He also dropped in my spirit that it would be a small team – yet, a significant team. Your part on this prayer team, I believe, has and will have a significant impact. I know it will ‘help’ us in our PHYSICAL world, but I believe it will be MORE impacting & powerfully significant in the SPIRIT REALM (what I think of as “the war zone.”) Not to mention….many of YOU I’ve watched for years model integrity in prayer, (ie.)when you say you will pray – you WILL PRAY!) – We’re sooo BLESSED!!

FRIDAY, July 17th – 9pm:
TRAVEL DAY – going to the JFK at 9pm….our flight leaves at midnight – and we travel thru the night.

PLEASE PRAY – that customs and immigration will go smoothly for all, that all our luggage will arrive safely. (Also, we are transporting over 1000prs. of glasses – that they will clear, and all equipment and medication will clear.)

SATURDAY, July 18th – 7:30am:
ARRIVAL DAY – we arrive in Oaxaca City at 7:30am and are picked up at the airport by the missionaries and transported to the Mission compound. We’ll spend the day in orientation, team building, and organizing glasses/materials.

PLEASE PRAY – travel mercies from the airport to the compound.

PLEASE PRAY – everyone on our team will be rested.

PLEASE PRAY – our health is protected – we will be protected in eating and drinking.

PLEASE PRAY – that our team will be unified in spirit. – not everyone on our team knows one another well, and many are in different places with their relationship with God. (I suspect that some may think they are believers – but are just ‘church go-ers’ – pray for salvation for EVERYONE on our team.)

SUNDAY, July 19th:
DAY w/ MISSIONARIES – we will attend a Mexican church service in the city, have more orientation/training, get accustomed to the altitude (over 5000ft.), and make final plans to set out to the villages Monday morning.

PLEASE PRAY – safety in the city as we travel.

PLEASE PRAY – grace, unity, & worship.

PLEASE PRAY – as we not prepare our ‘STUFF’ (equipment, agendas, etc.) – that God will prepare our HEARTS to meet the needs of the villagers.

PLEASE PRAY – that the missionary doctors returning will be blessed by seeing their past patients and friends made in previous years. (I remember when we did mission work in Reynosa, MX…it was ALWAYS soooo important to me to see the families I grew closer to in previous years….it is a precious reunion moment….and to restore relationship does something miraculous that is hard to understand. It is such a GIFT from God!!)

MONDAY, July 20th:
VILLAGE DAY #1 – we are most likely will be working as one team…but may split into two teams to cover more villages.

PLEASE PRAY – for the people in the villages
*That they will PHYSICALLY see.
*That they will see GOD in ways they never have before.

PLEASE PRAY – FOR RUSS (these are his requests) & the other interns /doctors.
*That he will have energy
*That he will work efficiently, accurately & quickly
*But also, that there will be a sensitivity to God and what HE may be doing in each moment.
*That God will give him wisdom – not only in medicine, but in ministry.
*That Russ’ Spanish skills will be restored
*That there will be easy communication w/ the villagers. (translation to the indigenous Indian dialec of the village)

PLEASE PRAY – for MIRACLES!!!!!!

Hebrews 13:8 “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and
forever.”

WE WANT TO SEE GOD IN THIS WAY!!

Mark 10:52 "What do you want me to do for you?" Jesus asked him. The
blind man said, "Rabbi, I want to see. “Go," said Jesus, "your faith has healed you." Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.”

We have heard of miraculous healing of the blind. (never seen by doctors…just thru prayer) We have heard of miraculous healing of bad vision, eye disease, and other health issues completely unrelated to eye health – etc.

PLEASE PRAY – for ISABELLA (and her ministry to the children) – God is working powerfully in ‘Bella Kate’s life. She has declared on different occasions, “Mommy, we will lay hands on people and they will be healed, in Jesus Name!” Yesterday she declared , “people will see & accept Jesus in their hearts. “ She has been doing a bible study with her teacher, Miss Faith learning these scriptures (which she has memorized.) & different stories from the bible.
-Mark 10:52 “Go for your faith has healed you.”
-1Peter 2:24 “By His stripes we are healed.”
-John 14:14 “If you pray anything in My name, it will be given to you.”
-And I’m sure she will be sharing the story of “Saul of Tarsus” (Acts 9)

TUESDAY, July 21st:
VILLAGE DAY #2 – (again…) we are most likely will be working as one team…but may split into two teams to cover more villages.

PLEASE PRAY – a repeat for the Villagers, Russ (& other Interns/Docs), & Isabella.

PLEASE PRAY – for People to be SAVED.

PLEASE PRAY – for DEBORAH (and my role) – I’ve been praying for this trip for a while now, and here are some things that I feel God has been saying about my role on this trip.

PLEASE PRAY – as we walk thru the city….we will take the Spirit of the Lord with us wherever we are…that we will miraculously BE light in the darkness.

BROOKLYN DANCE PROJECT: Dress Rehearsal - Ballet/Jazz One

Thankfully Isabella was fever-free...and feeling better. Thankfully -because this is the only time we can video the routine. We arrived QUITE early due to a misunderstanding. (Although irritating...it ended up being fun, and we visited with Alesha.) Hope you enjoy this little slide show....and the video. OH, MY GIRL!!

She has done sooo well with rehearsing. She and Alesha are pretty much the only ones with the timing and are pretty good at keeping in step with each other! She's certainly improved quite a bit in "year two".....thanks to Mdm. Karine!

beginning with brunch at the Living Room -- and then out for a drive. We found a secluded rocky beach...and just ENJOYED!

I really loved it -- we didn't find another beach quite like this one the whole weekend....not to mention....not another beach that didn't require some parking permit.

KINDERGARTEN ROOM MOM: My First Project...

Isabella's first teacher in her budding school career is Ms.Sweeny. She is a very sweet, petite, young lady - with a VERY New York Accent! Sooo adorable....she reminds me of my sis-in-law Chrissy...she has a "little girl voice"...and speaks very sweetly with the children.
We are in week 2 of Kindergarten...and everyday I ask Ms.Sweeny if she is doing OK...or if she needs anything. FINALLY she said, "Yes" and asked if I'd come in and help her label some bins.
We ended up talking about labeling the class library of books. Right now she has them divided out in categories... sooo cute. SO, I went to town with my creativity -- and turned out a fun project! I took photos of some books - photo shopped them - and then made bin labels!
The photo attached is a collage of all the labels....now...I just need to laminate them...cut them...and then attach them with pipe cleaners! I'll post a picture of the shelves when I'm done!

About 6 weeks ago I declared that my daughter would accept Jesus as her savior THIS YEAR!!! ~ So....I've been praying that God would reveal Himself to her...unveiling her eyes...and maturing her heart beyond her years.
WELL!!!
Tonight as we were praying before bed she told me that Lucifer was real...and asked me where he lived which got us into the story of God casting Lucifer out of heaven b/c he wanted to be like God -- and then she started asking if she could pray to put Jesus in her heart forever and ever...because she wanted to be with God forever." I quickly called Russ into her room (he normally wouldn't even be here except that tonight by a miracle he ended by 7:30 and was home before she went to bed!!)Anyway, she told Daddy that she wanted to pray to ask Jesus in her heart...so we told if she wanted to we'd pray with her but she'd need to tell God in her own words!! OH, it was sooooo sweet....

"Dear Jesus, I want you to come into my heart, I love you so much....please help me have good dreams....thank you....I want to live with you forever and ever. ~amen.

"TOOO SWEET!!!! She seems to understand that she 'disobeys' and that God doesn't like that and that's why Jesus died on the cross...she is forgiven...and that God will be with her forever....and Lucifer can't do anything about it! (loved that!) It's such a simple understanding...but it's soooo sweet all she gets!

I live in the moment! EVERY moment was the best! I've soooo missed Darlene...and her mentoring heart. Her love, care, and encouraging spirit! She is such an amazing example of a godly woman! I've watched her with her girls....and watching them grow....and each get married! WOW.... We didn't get to see Lindsay/Wes & the girls or Jenny & Brad...but we got to spend some sweet moments with Kelley & Robert! Isabella ADORES Kelley...as you can see.....

Not that she spared any LOVE for Nan or Pop! Pop was soooo fun with her...giving her a little princess throne and foot stool! Tooo FUN!!

What a SWEET WONDERFUL time I had with these girls....it was such a precious time for me. We went to "morning tea" at a sweet little tea shop....and then grabbed lunch at (my fav...) Eatzie's - and went back to Gina's. I was able to spent the entire day with them! What a blessing!!

OUR COOKING BUDDIES....

Ooooh, gotta love these two! Russ and I met them when we were doing Landmark Education a couple years ago....and what a blessing they are in our lives!! We loved Landmark...and all it did in our lives and in our marriage.... Wow....what a blessing. And now, years later - we are still reeping the benifits....So...Peter and LeighAnn came for dinner...and we caught up on ALL that is going on in our lives...since we've been gone. Peter, LeighAnn and I all did our 3rd part of Landmarks Core Curriculum together - called Self Expression Leadership Program. (SELP)

WHAT A BLAST !!!!

Agh! Not enough picture taking but we had a wonderful 1st day with NO RAIN...and spent the entire day out at the POOL!! yea.....

There was a lot of fun...swimming...lounging...& laughs!!!

Bek & I tried to read our books sitting lounging in the pool...but we got a bit distracted by Russ and Ken & then we started playing a round of "WHO'S LINE IS IT ANYWAY??"

"It's a giant piece of candy....it's a HUGE BOW!!!" We laughed sooooo hard! BOO...you are soooo funny!

Oh....what fun we had with the

HUGE Wisdom family....

It's hard to believe that Jill came to visit me in NYC in January.....and now she is the "Mommy of 3"....with one on the way!!!

Jill & Dean seem to have fallen right into the groove without issue into being parents! UGH!! And their girls are soooooo fun...adorable...and just plain CUDDLY!

I can NOT wait to meet the FOURTH....what an incredible blessing...God is soooo GOOD!

Today we went to their house for lunch...and all the girls took naps (including 'Bella Kate)...and afterwards we all 'suited up' and went to the pool! Wow...what swimmers we all have.... Jill's girls LOVE the water...and are soooo brave. AND MINE...wow....'Bella Kate is getting braver and braver....she is trying with all her might to put her face in the water....swimming to and from the steps to Daddy and me! I'm sooo proud of her!!

We ended the evening with dinner at yet ANOTHER 'bout of Tex-Mex! This time - LA Ha!!!! (La Hacienda...in Frisco) We've definitely been getting our fill since we arrived in Texas 4 weeks ago!

What a wonderful time of fellowship with Jill, Dean and the girls....

Thanks Jill and Dean....we LOVED our day with you two...and seeing your girls - hearing their stories...and seeing you both parent! Today was a kind of

'Business Day' for Mom and I.....

First we went to BarMel...to see Barry Melman...then off to lunch with Barb Roberson...and finally off to see my old friend (and seamstress) Griselda Lopez.

Griselda and I worked at Hairston Roberson, she was my sample maker...and then when I started my freelance biz...she did all of my sewing for me! What a great seamstress....and wonderful friend. When Griselda workded at HR...she's periodically would bring a one of her many children...I've known Theresa since she was about 8yrs....NOW, she's 20-something AND she has a sweet BABY!!! Griselda is a Grandma.....

Here is the new Abuelita....Alexandria...and new Mommy, Theresa!

Aunt Leesh had it at a local little waterpark...and it was the perfect size for the little ones!

The Birthday Yummies were delicious!! Even the ice cream cake was great...even when eaten with our FINGERS!! ( or 'thing-gers...as Isabella says...LOL!)

Although it's been raining like crazy EVERYDAY practically since we've been in Texas...this morning was perfectly sunny...and about 30min. after the party was over we heard the first clap of thunder.....and out of the pool we were! Perfect timing!!

Today was fun...

Starting off we visited our old church - formerly know as "Fellowship Bible Church North" - now, Chase Oaks church...still in the old building where we married...but soon to be in their new location at Legacy and Chase Oaks...that was fun. Jeff didn't preach (for obvious reasons...LOL...we are housesitting his home...and he and his family are in Beliz...) - But...Drew Leaver did - he was hilarious as usual, we really enjoyed Ty's worship...they even did a song that Kevin Singleton and Israel Houton wrote. Made us miss MSNY!!!

Then we met Viv and Omar for lunch...and then we took them to Frisco for a photoshoot at my favorite stone gazebo across from Frisco High School...it was gorgeous....here's my favorite!

Of course then we had to take some pictures with 'Bella. First Mimi & 'Bella...then one with Tia Bibi....love 'em!!! It was 'TEXAS HOT' - but the photo shoot was a success....

WEEK THREE: Sam Roberson...

We actually got to spend a little over an hour with Barb, Sam, Rosie and Gus....But when we arrived at the Royal Oaks Country Club to meet up with them for a swim...it was Sam Roberson that greeted us!! (Barb was running a little late....and I think Gus and Rosie were swimming in big pool. )

"WOW!!" is all I could think when he ran up to greet us....what a sweet, charming young man! Not only did he greet us like family....with sweet hugs....but he's grown into a wonderful, polite teenager! It was actually difficult thinking about when I'd met him 12 yrs before...and he was a rotund 2 year old infant! THEN...what a smiley round-faced, round-bellied toddler....and now....years and years later...a tall lean godly young man. What a blessing he is to others....and what a reflection of his Father and Mother!

Another thing I've loved...is every time 'Bella Kate is around Sam she is enamored by him! And he adores her....treating her like a little princess.

It was a lot of fun watching him usher her to the "BIG Pool"....and taxi-ing her around on his back....she LOVED it...and still is talking about how much fun "sweet Sam" is!!***

But...there is NOTHING like huggin' her....she give the tightest squeezes!! LOVE THAT!!! (Oooooh, and lucky ME....she's coming to NYC for her birthday in September!!! Whhhhooooooo HOOOOOO!! I can barely wait!!)

We had a wonderful double date with Viv and her sweet hubby, Omar. We went to PeiWei....YUM....and then back to their cute house. I'm glad we get to see them again this weekend!

We spent quite a bit of time in the airport...b/c of rain many flights were delayed...what a JOY to get to go and spend some quality time w/ the Schwarz family!!! Ooooh, and this was such a fun time! Being able to spend some quality time with our best friends was such a blessing.....to see how much this little 'charmer' has grown in just one year!!

Some of my favorite things about Sammi Jae:

Thankfully - Dara agreed to come to this evening's event!

I don't know if Russ would've had as much fun if she weren't there!!! He's found a fun connection with her...and she is sooo hilarious - she kept us all laughing!!~ She is a 'stitch!'
We started the evening with drinks and appitizers in a little bar area. Then they let us in to the dining area to select our tables....Russ, Dara and I got our table kind of in the back....then Drewann and her sweet husband, Julio came and sat with us. Then Michelle Keller and her boyfriend...as well as a couple I didn't know. Eventually my sweet friend Laurie (Burkett) and her husband Shane arrived and sat with us! It was fun seeing everyone from the night before....wow, everyone cleans up sooo nicely! The amazing things...is some of our ol' friends look soooo different - and some just exactly the same! Karen (Mattingly) is more beautiful than ever....and Missy (Mudd) is just a beautiful as she ever was. I don't think I'd recognize Karen if we met on the street...but Missy couldn't fool me a bit!

FUNNY STORY!!!!

Oh My, it must've been after 1am there was a little 'cat fight' that broke out between the girl here with my friend Missie - (Christa Pace - Class of '88) anyway...

The fight -

Some 'girl' got a bee in her bonnet with Christa for whatever reason and grabbed the back of her 'fake hair' and was trying to fight! Thankfully Jen Tiller observed the whole thing and grabbed the girl and pulled her off. Christa was ushered into where the white tables were...and was sitting by one bawling! Diane McFeaters and myself were trying to comfort her...and she was doing this combination 'bawling/barfing' thing! UGH!! - DISGUSTING....

Just as I was leaning over to Diana to tell her I couldn't deal with that - she says to me, "Deborah, I DON'T DO VOMIT!!" I was about to protest...and it was like she knew what I was gonna say and said, "I'm not a MOM - I don't DO vomit!!"

One of the super fun things about our reunion was the 5 months we had together 'before' on our JMHS87 website!

In January, Christy Hall's wonderful husband designed a wonderful web - board...where we all could post thread's to one another and "RE" get to know each other as adults. During this 5 months...it has been fun to get to rekindle old friendships...but also get to know some for the first time!!! This has been a true JOY!! And then....to see each other at the reunion! What FUN!

My sweet friend, Missie (Courney)and I planned to meet with our husbands and families for lunch....and then as we were all talking last night we invited Drewann & Traci to join us! What fun....we talked and talked....I think Russ thought we'd never leave! We went to Alamo Cafe and sat at my baby brother's (who's now nearly 21- not-so-baby-anymore!) table....even after we stood up from our table it took another HOUR to leave! We were having toooooo much fun!!

WEEK ONE - Day Three: "20th Reunion-Part 1"

Night One of my 20th reunion....was such fun! Before leaving Mom & Dad's house I felt a bit of "nervous excitement"...but the moment I walked up I saw my great friend Kim Loeffler...and was immediately calm! And the fun began....hugging...picture taking...seeing new friends that I made thru our JMHS '87 website...as well as seeing old friends! We closed the place down....Ahhhh....what fun!

We have actually stayed in touch thru the last 20yrs...mostly thru email...but we did go to one another's weddings. She was nearly 8mos. pregnant with her son, Baron at mine.

We had english together. We were reminising about our sweet friend Marlo Cassonova and having English with her. (Marlo passed away a few yrs. ago from cancer.) During our conversation we both realized that we had fond memories of when Marlo represented a prostitute in a possitive way in our Debate! We were both moved at how she admittedly didn't agree with the profession but could passionately see the draw to the career choice. Neither of us remember the outcome of the debate itself...but kind of discovered we both must've been on the SAME debate team.

LOVE THEM!! Trey and I bonded over a burrito on the website! He owns a Moe's Southwestern Grill in Austin, Texas! He began tempting us with pictures on the website...and the "dieters" were tempted. Love this big huggable bear...and his sweetest cub - Miss Diana! What fun we had... btw - thanks for the MOE's shirt Trey!

Dara & Russ...

I love it that my husband loves my sweet friend!! Dara and I were best friend in Jr.High...thru High School....I have had some of the most FUN.... extravagant.... rebellious moments with her!! Athough, she would say it was ALL Me...and back then, I probably said it was her....I think we played off of one another nicely in our rebellion. We really weren't THAT bad!! Thankfully for Dara, her Mom had more tolerance for our 'quanderies'.....than with my Mother. I was ALWAYS & CONTINUOUSLY on "restriction!" Thankfully...Dara conceded to come to "Night 1" of our reunion...and then I convinced her to come to "Night 2" as well!!

If you can't tell....I adore this girlfriend! We were 'flute friends' in the Ram Band....but in our senior year and years after that we became closer and closer. Although we lost touch for some years between that and our 10 yr. reunion...it was like no time went by when we reconnected at the 10 yr Reunion. Then - unfortunately - we lost touch only to reconnect a couple of years later just before I married Russ. We got to see each other about three years ago...and now keep in touch thru email!! LOVE THIS GIRL...and refuse to lose touch this time!!!

WEEK ONE - Day Two: "Go Spurs Go!!"

It's a strange phenomenon... how you can enter the city limits to San Antonio, Texas - you immediately become a SPURS fan.

Now...I don't completely understand it - but somehow I got swept up in the NBA excitement - and therefore dressed my family in "SPURS memorabilia" and dawned some Silver Pom-Poms...and proceeded to get excited about watching hours of basket ball for an away game against Cleaveland.

We cheered, jumped up....and got extremely excited upon the close ending to this final game...

Not to mention my Mom and Dad nearly came unglued!!

WHAT FUN!!

Today we went to the MIDWAY PARK.....This historic state amusement park is located in Maple Springs, New York just minutes from Jamestown, NY on the banks of Chautauqua Lake. It's one of only five remaining "Trolley Parks" in the United States and is recognized as the 15th oldest, continually-operating amusement park in the nation. Established in 1898 as picnic grounds, early visitors arrived by trolley car, train and steamboat. Today it has 18 rides, plus miniature golf, go-karts, rock climbing and water-wars.

"NO MORE Monkies Jumpin' on the Bed!!"

We are on our first trip of the summer....Russ has the opportunity to work with a doctor in Jamestown, NY and visit his practice. He was given a grant to travel....lodge...and eat. The BONUS is that we worked it out to save the grant money....AND managed to take our entire family to upstate New York.

We rented a minivan....and off we went!! It was quite a LONG HAUL- 7 hours to be exact....but, my little punkin was soooo excited when she heard that we'd be staying in a hotel - because that is the ONLY place we jump on the bed!!!

We had a wonderful experience in Jamestown....and had a GRAND roadtrip....Bella and I hung out at the hotel today....and went swimming....then took a LONG nap! Ahhhh, it's summer. Tomorrow we have more plans to hang out with Dr. Colburn's family....and possibly go to a little amusement park - which should be fun for our girls, they have a 2yo!!

Today we are doing a little cleaning out......
Still doing "house duties"...we have a lot of things to clear out of the basement - so I have to clear out our small storage closet on the third floor...and then I'll have to mail my Mother-In-Law our HUGE boxes that store 'Bella's - tortoise & hair - "rockin bunny!" I finally sold my antique armoire - that used to hold our TV in our living room back in Texas. I'm soooo sad that we didn't choose to move it Michigan to store with our other furniture. We decided to bring the armoire to NY...but it was too wide to move up the narrow staircase in our house. So...after sitting in the entry way of our house for the last 10mos. - I finally listed it on Craig's list for $500. ( & got $450 for it!!- the only good thing about it, was I bought that armoire and the one I still have in Michigan together for $100 at a Dallas estate sale about 10yrs ago...so at least a little more profit...can made me feel better about having to sell it!) We also had to get rid of 'Bella's Little Tikes Wagon....needless to say - we just don't have ANY storage room...so, we are trying to 'lighten our load' little by little!~

We are in a CONSTANT STATE of 'down-sizing. I know that this is not a "bad thing"...there is always something to clear out...or unload...and I even like that we have "lightened our load" immensely over the last year and a half...it's a great process to simplifying and organizing our life! Who knows how long it may take... there is STILL sooo much more to do...I think little by little will help me conquer my disease - "Packus-Ratus."

Two more days until we leave for upstate New York - where Russ will work with Dr. Chris Colburn in Jamestown, NY. (Hometown of Lucille Ball...) Russ got accepted into a program that sends the SUNY interns to a Doctors office to work alongside the doctor - and a grant pays for the entire experience. (Travel, lodging, and food.) So....instead of flying we thought it would be fun to rent a car and drive to Jamestown...and then 'Bella and Mommy could go along to explore 'upstate'...and have a fun little vacation as a family - and keep Daddy company at night! We are not eager to let him out of our site, yet!! I'm excited to see a little more of NY other than the city!!

ONLY 10 DAYS....
until we leave for Texas! Yea!

We are excited...but, we have a list of things to accomplish before we even think of leaving the city! We have to go thru our hall closet and create some space for my brother. (For those of you who don't know...my brother Rob is nearly done with law school & got an internship here in NYC for the summer with the Attorney Generals office! - congrats rob!!) So, we're tackling the closet....sending lots of stuff to Good Will and making space for suits, and Rob's stuff! We made some fantastic progress...and the closet looks amazing. Hopefully there is enough room for all the things Rob brings for the summer!

We've also done some organizing of Isabella's room!! Wow, we didn't realize how many 'baby toys' we have kept around....lot's of Fischer Price - which is now all bagged up! As well as a bag of buttons, ribbons, silk flower peddles, broken beads, and a sundry of misc. things!! (even paper shards! Our little one is a "putter" and a "pack rat"!!) We've finally bagged up all the little 'board books'...and baby books too. It makes me a little sad to be honest....I can't believe she's nearly FOUR! And not a little baby.... :::::sigh:::::

Lastly....cleaned out the pantry and under the bathroom sink, and the hallway outside our apartment....whew! Russ has been begging me to clear out the medicines, organize the pantry, and clear out the hallway - and now we've created and easier space to live in!

All in all, we bagged up 3 huge bags of trash...and 3 huge bags of donations! Now....tomorrow I have a day of cleaning....I now must rid our house the best I can of as much cat hair as possible!! Hopefully & prayerfully Rob will not have a tough time of it - with our kitties this summer!!

Our little joy, Miss Isabella Kate announced upon hearing that Daddy is finished with school, "Tomorrow is Summer!!!" Somehow, in that intelligent little brain of hers....she put together when Daddy is done with school - it will be summer!
And you know what happens when it's summer right?? WE GO TO TEXAS!!!!

There is a lot to be done before we leave for Texas on June 12th....WHEW!!! BUT....FIRST THINGS FIRST!!

We celebrated Daddy getting - 3 A's, 1 B, and 2 C's!!! Praise God - Year ONE COMPLETE!! We went to LaVilla for brick oven Pizza - "FOUR Cheese"...Dessert...and whatever else made Daddy feel like a KING - because HE IS!!
